After a long plane
ride and a full day on the beach, we will now complete our first days liberty
prior to taking command of the Carver.
Join us below for
these final photos of libety in Rota, and then head on to the next
page as we move on board the USS George Washington Carver.
This street is
found heading just away from the beach veranda we were previously at in
the last page. One can see the difference between the condos in the previous
picture and the tight streets and older tall buildings sitting right on
the streets edge.
Though Spain being
a primarily Catholic nation the presence of many Protestant churchs could
be found throughout it's main as well as outlying streets. This, no doubt,
in large part due to the strong American Navy Base.
This now completes
our brief tour of some of Rota's streets and our first day in Spain prior
to taking over the submarine from the off going crew. Let us now head on
to the next page and begin to see some of
the individuals and workstations.
